SCADA Expert – Water Pipeline, Treatment & Supply Projects

About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced SCADA professional with proven end-to-end project delivery experience in water pipeline, water treatment, and supply systems. The ideal candidate will assess the current situation, define a detailed Scope of Work (SoW), and provide technical leadership and guidance to our in-house IoT development team to ensure successful project execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct site assessment and gap analysis of existing water infrastructure and SCADA/telemetry systems.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand operational, technical, and regulatory requirements.
• Define a detailed Scope of Work (SoW) and functional specifications for the SCADA system.
• Recommend suitable hardware (RTUs, PLCs, sensors, etc.) and SCADA software platforms tailored to water industry standards.
• Guide the IoT team in integrating field devices, communication protocols (Modbus, DNP3, MQTT, etc.), and data acquisition systems.
• Ensure proper cybersecurity measures and network architecture are implemented.
• Oversee system architecture design, HMI screen design, alarm/event configuration, and control logic development.
• Develop testing, commissioning, and handover procedures.
• Provide documentation, training, and technical support during the development and post-deployment phases.
• Liaise with third-party vendors, consultants, or authorities as needed.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Electrical, Instrumentation, Control Systems, or related engineering field.
• 10+ years of experience in SCADA systems, specifically in water treatment, distribution, and pipeline monitoring projects.
• Proven experience in the full project lifecycle: assessment, design, development, implementation, and commissioning.
• Strong knowledge of PLCs (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Schneider, etc.), RTUs, HMIs, and SCADA platforms (e.g., Wonderware, GE iFIX, Ignition, etc.).
• Experience working with telemetry, flow/pressure sensors, water quality monitoring, VFDs, and motor control centers.
• Familiarity with IoT technologies and integration with SCADA systems.
• Strong documentation and communication skills.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Experience working with municipal water utilities or large-scale water infrastructure.
• Familiarity with GIS, Digital Twin, or predictive maintenance for water systems.
• Exposure to cloud-based SCADA, data analytics, or edge computing is a plus.
• PMP or similar project management certification is an advantage.

• Recommended architecture and technology stack
• Project implementation roadmap and milestones
• Guidance and review of IoT team work output

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹1,050,000.00 - ₹3,000,000.00 per year
