Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced
Senior Functional Analyst
with expertise in
SAP MM/PUR (Material Management / Procurement)
to join our team. This position involves both
support and enhancement
responsibilities, including the transition from project work to ongoing support. The consultant will have the opportunity to
lead a team of 2030 associates
, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and work closely with clients to deliver SAP solutions. You will be responsible for configuring and supporting SAP MM/PUR processes, as well as delivering functional enhancements, training, and end-to-end testing.
Key Responsibilities
Functional Responsibilities:
- Develop Business Requirement Documents (BRD) in consultation with business users to gather and document requirements.
- Estimate effort for enhancements and support work using TE estimation processes.
- Collaborate with development teams and MTC (testers) for the successful implementation and testing of new SAP functionalities.
- Configure SAP MM/PUR processes, including Subcontracting, Consignment, Cross Company, Drop Shipment, and Intercompany/STO functionality.
- Lead the configuration of new STO, purchase organizations, and output for purchasing documents.
- Work with business users to train them on SAP MM/PUR functionality and best practices.
- Build test scripts and conduct end-to-end testing, including Unit Testing and supporting User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
- Support the transition from enhancement projects to support, ensuring smooth handover and continued business value.
- Deliver functional specifications (FDD) documentation and manage the implementation of enhancements.
Team Leadership & Management
- Manage a team of 2030 associates, providing guidance, direction, and ensuring effective collaboration.
- Oversee day-to-day activities, ensuring the team is meeting project deadlines and quality standards.
- Foster team commitment and ensure that associates are meeting performance goals and delivering high-quality work.
- Act as the main point of contact between business users and the development/support teams.
- Ensure proper resource allocation and assist with workload distribution across the team.
- Mentor junior associates and provide training on SAP MM/PUR configurations, best practices, and troubleshooting.
Managed Service Process & ITIL Knowledge
- Familiarity with ITSM/Service Desk ticketing systems (preferably ServiceNow) for handling service requests and incidents.
- Understanding of ITIL concepts and how they apply to Production Support processes, including Incident Management, Service Requests, Problem Management, and Change Management.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Extensive experience in SAP MM/PUR configurations, particularly with Subcontracting, Consignment, Cross Company, Drop Shipment, and Intercompany/STO functionality.
- In-depth understanding of SAP MM/PUR processes, including master data configuration and integration with MM, SD, PP, and FI modules.
- Strong experience in configuring STO, purchase organizations, and purchasing document outputs.
- Familiarity with EDI messages used in MM/PUR for integrations.
- Ability to manage and lead teams, including setting priorities, mentoring associates, and ensuring team alignment with business goals.
- Proven ability to handle cross-functional project teams, ensuring collaboration and task execution.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and conceptual skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into business-friendly language.
- Demonstrated initiative, sound judgment, and the ability to achieve results in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with ITIL processes, including managing support requests and incident resolution through tools like ServiceNow.
Preferred Skills
- Previous experience working with large-scale SAP implementations in public or private sector organizations.
- Experience with SAP S/4HANA or cloud-based SAP solutions.
- Knowledge of Agile and Scrum methodologies for project management.
- Strong knowledge of structured analysis and technical design techniques.
