SAP FI functional - Lease Accounting Consultant

This role leads design, configuration, and deployment of SAP Asset Accounting (FI-AA) and SAP Lease Accounting for a large Oil & Gas program. You will translate complex asset lifecycle and lease requirements into compliant SAP solutions aligned to IFRS 16/ASC 842. The consultant will integrate FI-AA and Lease Accounting with FI, CO, PM, RE-FX, MM, and PS to support upstream, midstream, and downstream processes. The position also drives workshops, testing, data migration, and documentation, and provides postgo-live support and continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications

• 6-9 years of SAP Finance experience with strong hands-on in FI-AA and Lease Accounting
• Proven implementation experience with SAP Lease Accounting in compliance with IFRS 16 and/or ASC 842 (preferably via RE-FX)
• Deep configuration knowledge of Asset Accounting: asset classes, account determination, depreciation areas/keys, capitalization rules, impairment, retirement/transfer, revaluation
• Oil & Gas domain exposure with understanding of upstream/midstream/downstream asset and lease scenarios
• Strong cross-module integration experience with FI, CO, PM, RE-FX, MM, and PS
• Experience running workshops, requirement gathering, solution walkthroughs, and user trainings
• Testing leadership: test script creation, integration testing, and UAT management
• Hands-on data migration and cutover for assets and leases; reconciliation and data quality controls
• Collaboration with technical teams on RICEFW (reports, interfaces, conversions, enhancements, forms, workflows)
• Post–go-live hypercare, issue troubleshooting, and process optimization
• Strong documentation: process flows, functional specifications, and end-user manuals
• Understanding of internal controls and compliance in Oil & Gas contexts

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end solution design and configuration for SAP FI-AA and Lease Accounting for Oil & Gas clients
• Gather and analyze business requirements for asset lifecycle, capitalization, depreciation, impairment, and lease treatments
• Configure FI-AA submodules and integrate with FI, CO, PM, RE-FX, MM, and PS
• Implement SAP Lease Accounting per IFRS 16/ASC 842 and tailor to upstream, midstream, and downstream business processes
• Plan and conduct workshops, solution walkthroughs, user trainings; develop test scripts and manage integration and UAT cycles
• Coordinate with technical teams to deliver RICEFW objects and manage data migration and cutover
• Provide expertise in asset retirement, transfer, revaluation, and ensure compliance with internal controls
• Deliver hypercare, resolve issues post–go-live, and recommend process improvements
• Prepare detailed documentation: process flows, functional specs, and end-user manuals
