SAP FI Consultant (Finance)

Role Overview :

We are looking for an experienced SAP FI Consultant to join our team. You will be responsible for implementing, configuring, and supporting the Financial Accounting (FI) module of SAP. You will work closely with business stakeholders to understand financial processes, help translate them into SAP solutions, ensure integration with other SAP modules, and lead testing, training, and golive activities.

Key Responsibilities :

• Lead / participate in full lifecycle SAP FI implementations (blueprint, design, configuration, testing, deployment, support).
  
• Conduct workshops with business users to gather requirements, map current (AsIs) financial processes, perform gap analysis and articulate future (“ToBe”) business processes.
  
• Configure core FI submodules such as General Ledger (GL), Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Asset Accounting (AA), Bank Accounting, Funds Management, Special Purpose Ledger, and other relevant FI components.
  
• Define chart of accounts, company codes, fiscal year variants, ledgers (new GL), posting periods etc.
  
• Ensure seamless integration of FI module with other modules like Controlling (CO), MM (Material Management), SD (Sales & Distribution), and others.
  
• Support data migration: mapping legacy data, data cleansing, load transactions, ensure accuracy of opening balances.
  
• Develop / design financial reports, closing and posting processes, monthend / yearend closing, intercompany reconciliations.
  
• Drive testing phases: Unit Testing, Integration Testing, User Acceptance Testing (UAT). Validate configuration, identify defects, track and ensure resolution.

Required Skills & Experience :

• Strong knowledge of financial accounting principles and standards (e.g. local GAAP, IFRS).
  
• Expertise in core SAP FI submodules: GL, AP, AR, AA, Bank Accounting etc.
  
• Good understanding of integration points with other SAP modules (CO, MM, SD, etc.).
  
• Experience in data migration (legacy to SAP), opening balances, legacy system interfaces.
  
• Experience in report building and financial analytics; ability to interpret financial data and convert into usable reports.
  
• Strong skills in testing: unit, integration, and UAT.
  
• Ability to deliver training, prepare user manuals, conduct workshops.
  
• Excellent problem solving, analysis and debugging skills.
  
• Good documentation skills.
  
• Strong communication skills, stakeholder management, ability to work with functional, technical teams, finance teams.
