Job Description

A BASIS Architect designs, implements, and manages the technical foundation for SAP systems, focusing on architecture, performance, and security across both on-premise and cloud environments

Key responsibilities

Architectural design and strategy:
Design and implement robust, scalable SAP system architectures, define standards and best practices, and provide strategic direction for the SAP infrastructure.
System management:
Lead SAP installations, upgrades, migrations, and patching. Monitor and optimize system performance, manage user accounts, and handle tasks like performance tuning, batch management, and spool administration.
High availability and disaster recovery:
Ensure system availability through robust high-availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) solutions.
Security and compliance:
Maintain system security, data integrity, and compliance with SAP policies. Conduct regular audits and manage security configurations.
Cross-functional collaboration:
Work with IT leadership, functional teams, and business stakeholders to align SAP architecture with business goals.
Mentorship:
Mentor and guide junior BASIS administrators and other technical teams.
Troubleshooting and support:
Provide high-level support, resolve complex issues, and support the integration between SAP and other internal or external platforms.

Key skills and experience

Deep technical expertise in various SAP technologies, including SAP S/4HANA, and SAP BTP.
Hands-on experience with managing complex, global SAP landscapes.
Experience with both on-premise and cloud environments (e.g., GCP, Azure).
Knowledge of different operating systems (like Linux) and databases.
Familiarity with system administration, including installation, upgrades, patching, and performance tuning.
Strong problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills
