Job Description

The Sales Manager role based in Chennai, India (with PAN India coverage) requires an experienced professional with 8-10 years of experience in food ingredient B2B sales. The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Food Science or a related field. With approximately 50% travel requirement for client meetings, key accounts, and distributors, you will be responsible for driving revenue, volume, and gross margin growth for the food ingredients portfolio across India. As a Sales Manager, your primary objective will be to own and achieve sales, volume, and profitability targets nationwide. You will need to develop and execute strategic sales & marketing plans for key accounts and distributors, as well as lead end-to-end customer engagement. Collaborating with internal teams such as Sales, Marketing, Regulatory, and Applications will be essential to deliver solutions and ensure customer satisfaction. Furthermore, you will be expected to identify market gaps in the food & beverage industry, influence product development, monitor industry trends, pricing, and competition, while ensuring compliance with regulatory affairs and keeping abreast of relevant developments. Driving growth in key multinational and local food & beverage clients, supervising team operations and performance, and signing new franchisees will also be part of your responsibilities. The successful candidate will possess strong key account management and distribution/channel management skills, along with the ability to develop trusted relationships and execute strategic sales plans. Intermediate proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, as well as a collaborative mindset with excellent internal and external communication skills, are essential for this role.
