Job Summary
The Sales Engineer is a technical sales professional responsible for driving sales and market penetration for home appliance products through a network of channel partners, including distributors, dealers, and retailers. This role requires a combination of technical product expertise, channel management skills, and a strong sales acumen to grow the business and ensure partner success.
Key Responsibilities
Channel Partner Management & Development
- Identify, recruit, and onboard new distributors and dealers to expand the company's market reach.
- Develop and maintain strong, long-term relationships with existing channel partners to ensure their ongoing commitment and success.
- Conduct regular business reviews with partners to track performance, identify areas for improvement, and align on sales strategies.
- Develop and implement channel-specific sales strategies and promotional campaigns to drive sell-through.
- Resolve conflicts or issues with channel partners in a professional and timely manner.
Sales and Technical Support
- Act as the primary technical point of contact for channel partners and their customers, providing expert knowledge on all home appliance products.
- Conduct product demonstrations and training sessions for partner sales teams and retail staff to ensure a high level of product knowledge.
- Provide pre-sales technical support by answering inquiries about product features, specifications, and applications.
- Collaborate with partners to prepare and present proposals and quotations for large-scale projects, such as those for real estate developers or hospitality businesses.
- Address technical concerns and troubleshoot product-related issues to ensure customer satisfaction.
Market Intelligence and Strategy
- Gather market intelligence on competitor activities, pricing strategies, and product offerings.
- Collect and analyze feedback from the channel to provide insights to the internal product development and marketing teams.
- Participate in market research to identify new business opportunities and market trends.
- Contribute to the development of a strategic sales plan for the assigned territory.
Performance Tracking and Reporting
- Manage and track the sales pipeline and revenue forecast through a CRM system.
- Achieve or exceed monthly and quarterly sales targets for the assigned territory.
- Monitor channel performance metrics, such as sales volume, conversion rates, and inventory levels.
- Submit regular reports on sales activities, market conditions, and competitor activities.
Qualifications and Skills
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (preferably Electrical or Electronics) or a related technical field is often preferred.
- Proven experience in channel sales or technical sales within the home appliances, consumer electronics, or electrical products industry.
- Demonstrated experience with managing and growing a network of distributors and dealers.
Technical Skills
- Strong technical aptitude with a deep understanding of home appliance products and their features.
- Ability to explain complex technical concepts in a simple, clear, and compelling manner.
- Familiarity with CRM software and MS Office Suite.
