  • Any degree + IOSH or NEBOSH certifications
  • Minimum 5 years experience working as a Safety Officer in the construction industry ( with Builders / Contractors etc).
  • KSA's (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)
  • Technical Proficiency & Excellent knowledge of MS Office
  • Team Management skills
  • Team Player
  • Excellent leadership skills, and commitment to quality and efficiency.

JOB ROLE

1. Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment:

  • Identifying potential hazards in the workplace.
  • Assessing the risks associated with those hazards.
  • Developing strategies to mitigate or eliminate risks.

2. Policy and Procedure Development:

  • Creating and implementing safety policies and procedures.
  • Ensuring policies align with local, state and National Standards
  • Updating policies as needed to reflect changes in regulations or organizational needs.

3. Training and Education:

  • Conducting safety training for employees on various topics, including hazard recognition, emergency procedures, and safe work practices.
  • Communicating safety information and promoting a culture of safety.

4. Compliance and Enforcement:

  • Ensuring compliance with safety regulations and standards.
  • Conducting regular inspections and audits to identify non-compliance.
  • Enforcing safety rules and procedures when necessary.

5. Accident Investigation:

  • Investigating workplace incidents to determine the root cause.
  • Preparing reports and implementing corrective actions to prevent similar incidents from happening.

6. Emergency Management:

  • Developing and implementing emergency response plans.
  • Conducting drills and training to prepare employees for emergencies.

7. Other Responsibilities:

  • Addressing employee concerns about safety.
  • Ensuring the proper labeling and storage of hazardous substances.
  • Monitoring contractor safety.
