Safety Incharge

Role & responsibilities

• Overall responsibility for

  Environment, Health & Safety (EHS)

  management at the plant/project site.
• Ensure compliance with all

  statutory, legal, and regulatory requirements

  under Factories Act, Environment Protection Act, and applicable state rules.
• Implement and monitor

  safety management systems

  , SOPs, work permits, and safe operating procedures.
• Conduct

  Hazard Identification & Risk Assessment (HIRA)

  , Job Safety Analysis (JSA), and recommend preventive and corrective actions.
• Plan and conduct

  safety trainings, tool-box talks, mock drills, and awareness programs

  for employees and contractors.
• Investigate

  accidents, near misses, unsafe acts/conditions

  , prepare incident reports, and ensure closure of corrective actions.
• Ensure proper implementation of

  PPE usage, safety signage, emergency preparedness, and firefighting systems

  .
• Coordinate with operations, maintenance, projects, and contractors to ensure safe execution of activities.
  
• Monitor contractor safety compliance, conduct audits, and enforce safety discipline at site.
  
• Maintain

  EHS documentation, records, registers, permits, and MIS reports

  .
• Liaise with

  government authorities, auditors, and external agencies

  during inspections and audits.
• Support implementation of

  ISO 14001, ISO 45001, OHSAS, and internal EHS standards

  (where applicable).
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety culture and reduce incidents.
  
• Act as site emergency coordinator during emergency situations.
