Safety Engineer

As the Safety and Health Coordinator for the carbon plant greenfield project, your primary responsibility is to ensure the effective implementation of safety and health systems throughout the construction, commissioning, and early operational phases. Your role is pivotal in fostering a proactive safety culture, minimizing risks, and ensuring legal compliance. You will be tasked with assisting in the development and execution of site-specific EHS management plans, including the preparation of Health & Safety budgets and monthly plans. It is essential to ensure compliance with all relevant safety laws, rules, and regulations to maintain a safe working environment. Risk management will be a key aspect of your role, involving the identification and assessment of hazards, as well as the preparation and review of Job Safety Analyses for critical activities. Additionally, you will be responsible for organizing safety inductions, toolbox talks, and refresher training sessions for the workforce and contractors to enhance safety awareness. Daily site monitoring, safety walks, and audits will be conducted to verify that work is being carried out safely. You will track and report unsafe conditions and behaviors, driving corrective actions when necessary. In the event of safety incidents, you will ensure proper reporting, lead or support investigations, conduct root cause analyses, and oversee the closure of corrective and preventive actions. Maintaining accurate documentation of permits, trainings, audits, incidents, and statutory compliance is crucial. You will also be responsible for contractor safety management, ensuring that all contractors align with the project's EHS requirements. Furthermore, you will be involved in emergency preparedness by preparing on-site emergency plans and supporting the development and execution of on-site emergency response plans and mock drills. Your commitment to safety, proactive approach to hazard reporting, and meticulous attention to detail will be instrumental in the success of the project.,
