SECTION III: KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES OF THE ROLE Responsibilities Policies, Processes and Procedures Conduct & follow established fire safety policies, processes, standard operating procedures and maintenance and integrity programs to provide assurance of the fire safety services Keep self abreast with leading practices and trends in order to contribute Assurance Carryout investigation of all fire safety incidents, conduct root cause analysis and identify action plans to avert future fire incidents Assist in plant level fire safety audits and implement suggestive measures to bridge identified gaps Maintain & evaluate the Risk Assessment (RA) sheet & make necessary modifications therein to assure adequate fire prevention measures Organize and conduct daily fire drills to ensure effective response in case of fire emergency Operations Recognise potential escalations/hidden hazards and apply fire fighting strategies for a given process, tank farm or marine emergency scenario as applicable to area of work Provide immediate response to emergency calls, exhibit incident command & control technique, and ensure mobilization of resources for emergency control and mitigation Utilize appropriate firefighting equipment and techniques, and liaise with various emergency responders and incident commander for effective emergency management Prepare training modules/programs and organize fire awareness training to fire executive/site employee to enhance awareness/capability pertaining to fire safety Ensure availability and reliability of all firefighting equipment, vehicles, and communication systems at all fire stations on ready to use basis to avert any fire incidents Report non-compliant cases and implement suggested measures to minimize non-compliance Maintain log book, occurrence book and other shift related documentation to ensure adherence to fire safety compliances KNOWLEDGE AND COMPETENCIES Education Qualifications Bachelors of Engineering in Fire or Diploma Engineer / Bachelors of Science with Station Officer Course / Grad I (IFE UK / INDIA) / Sub Officer Course FUNCTIONAL COMPETENCIES High level of proficiency in Fire Safety Management Application and make use of different firefighting equipment, consumables, systems and other resources management for effective emergency Management Good understanding about SAP system and its various transaction BEHAVIORAL COMPETENCIES Team work, Delegation, Communication and Time management skill Planning and decision making
