About Retail Portfolio Management Group
The Retail Portfolio Management Group (RPMG) plays a strategic role in managing the bank's retail receivables, with a sharp focus on loss containment, cost efficiency, and portfolio sustainability. Through advanced analytics, technology-driven processes, and close collaboration with Credit, Risk, and Product teams, RPMG ensures risk-calibrated policy execution.RPMG engages delinquent customers with multiple repayment solutions and financial counseling, promoting responsible credit behavior and long-term financial health. This approach aligns with the bank's overarching Growth, Profitability, and Sustainability (GPS) strategy, positioning RPMG as a key contributor to operational resilience and financial performance
About the Role
To lead and manage the Agri Loans collections portfolio across India, ensuring effective resolution across delinquency buckets through multiple collection channels. The role involves strategic planning, vendor and team management, legal execution, and collaboration with product teams to mitigate risks and improve portfolio health.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Planning & Execution
.Prepare and execute national collections strategy aligned with business goals..Set monthly and quarterly resolution targets and develop case-specific recovery strategies..Forecast and drive hiring plans, resource allocation, and performance metrics.Portfolio & Bucket Management.Achieve resolution targets across 30+ DPD, 90+ DPD, and 180+ DPD buckets..Minimize forward flow to subsequent delinquency buckets..Monitor gross slippages and manage inventory based on quarterly risk benchmarks.Recovery & NPA Management.Drive monthly recovery targets for rural portfolios..Track and improve Net NPA performance and ensure timely upgrades..Monitor high-ticket and weak accounts regularly for early warning signals and resolution.Legal & Compliance Oversight.Initiate and oversee legal actions for recovery cases..Ensure execution of legal and collection tools in a timely manner..Ensure cost provisions are within budget and aligned with strategic initiatives.Team & Vendor Management.Lead a team of Regional and Zonal Collections Managers and Executives across India..Drive performance of collection agencies, identify gaps, and implement corrective actions..Ensure timely allocation of cases based on geography and vintage.Process Adherence & Audit.Ensure internal and external guidelines are followed across all regions..Conduct periodic audits of agencies and internal processes..Ensure compliance with audit requirements and address observations proactively.Training & Development.Motivate and coach the team through structured development and training programs..Ensure dissemination of KPIs, targets, and incentive structures at the start of each month..Promote continuous learning and capability building across the collections function.Product & Risk Collaboration.Liaise with the product team to provide regular feedback and highlight emerging risks..Support data quality improvement initiatives through timely feedback and updates..Stay updated on market trends and collection analytics to build innovative use cases.
Qualifications
Optimal qualification for success on the job is:.Graduate/Postgraduate in Agriculture, Finance, or related field..12-18 years of experience in collections, with significant exposure to Agri or rural lending portfolios..Proven experience in managing large teams and national-level vendor operations..
