1. Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Robot Programmer with strong expertise in Yaskawa Welding Robots, specifically for aluminium welding operations. The candidate will be responsible for robot programming, fixture understanding, welding parameter setup, optimization, and ensuring high–quality production output.

2. Key Responsibilities

Robot Programming & Setup

• Create, modify, and optimize programs for Yaskawa robotic welding systems.

• Configure welding parameters for aluminium MIG/TIG welding using robotic setup.

• Teach pendant operations, path corrections, TCP setup, and job creation.

• Develop multi-layer, multi-pass welding programs depending on component requirements.

Production & Process Control

• Ensure robot achieves required cycle time, speed, and accuracy.

• Conduct robot trials, validations, and process capability studies.

• Troubleshoot welding defects such as:

• Porosity

• Lack of fusion

• Spatter

• Cracks

• Incomplete penetration

Maintenance & Troubleshooting

• Handle robot preventive maintenance (PM) and minor mechanical/ electrical issues.

• Identify errors, alarms, and take corrective actions.

• Ensure smooth operation of torches, nozzles, wire feeders, welding sources, sensors, etc.

Quality Compliance

• Ensure weld quality meets aluminium welding standards (AWS / ISO).

• Work with QC for weld inspection, measurements, and rework reduction.

• Prepare documentation—program records, change logs, maintenance logs.

Fixture & Tooling Knowledge

• Understand and align welding fixtures, clamps, jigs, locators.

• Work with design team for fixture improvements.

Team Coordination

• Coordinate with production, maintenance, and quality teams.

• Train operators & technicians on robot operation and safety.

3. Required Skills & Qualifications

• Diploma / B.Tech in Mechanical / Electrical / Mechatronics / Robotics.

• Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in Yaskawa robotic welding programming.

• Strong knowledge of aluminium welding processes (MIG/TIG).

• Experience with:

• Teach pendant operations

• Parameter setting (current, voltage, wire feed)

• Robot path planning

• Arc welding power sources

• Understanding of safety protocols for robotic welding cells.

• Ability to read engineering drawings, welding symbols, and GD&T.

• Problem-solving and root-cause analysis capability.
