Residential Architect

A residential architect's job description involves designing high-rise and other residential buildings, preparing construction drawings, coordinating with consultants and site teams, and performing site visits to monitor progress. • Design and drawing creation: Develop architectural plans and drawings for residential projects from concept to construction-ready documents. This includes preparing working drawings, detail designs, and tender documents.
• Project coordination: Collaborate with internal teams (such as MEP, planning, construction) and external consultants, including engineers and other specialists.
• Site supervision: Conduct site visits to monitor construction progress, ensure work is being done according to drawings, and resolve any design-related issues.
• Compliance and documentation: Ensure designs comply with all building codes, safety regulations, and statutory requirements. Maintain project records and prepare as-built drawings.
• Software proficiency: Utilize design and drafting software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and SketchUp.
• Presentation and marketing: Prepare presentation drawings for clients and marketing materials like brochures.

Required qualifications and skills

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Architecture
• Experience: Varies by role, but typically 2+ years for a junior architect to 5-13+ years for more senior positions. Experience with residential and high-rise projects is often preferred.
• Technical skills: Proficiency in design software like AutoCAD, Revit, and SketchUp is essential.
• Soft skills: Strong communication, leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. The ability to work collaboratively in a team and meet deadlines is also crucial.
