Research Science Analyst

Role Overview: You will be a part of the Global Banking Pools team (GBP) within the Panorama Financial Institutions and Insights consulting team (PFIC) at the McKinsey Knowledge Center in Gurgaon. The team focuses on product-level market sizing across banking revenues worldwide to help clients develop market strategies based on data-driven insights. Key Responsibilities: - Build and maintain knowledge assets related to banking market sizing. - Serve clients by providing insights into the banking landscape using tools. - Conduct fundamental research in central bank documents and commercial bank annual reports globally to create and maintain databases. - Share research findings with users of a global market-sizing database in a standardized data structure. - Develop a deep understanding of various banking markets globally and the operations of a global research center in the financial industry. - Enhance your understanding of the financial sector worldwide, improve data management and analytical skills, and work in a dynamic business environment. - Receive exceptional training, frequent coaching, and mentoring from senior colleagues. Qualifications Required: - Master's degree in economics or finance-related field; mathematics, statistics is an added advantage. - Basic understanding of banking economics and macroeconomics. - Familiarity with banks" financial reports is a plus. - Proficient in Excel; knowledge of R, Python, or other advanced analytics tools is beneficial. - Strong analytical capability with the ability to synthesize complex relationships. - Attention to detail, dedication to data accuracy, and ability to work efficiently under pressure to meet deadlines. - Strong written and verbal communication skills in English. - Professional attitude, service orientation, ability to work independently, and in a team. - Entrepreneurial and self-starters who enjoy the challenges and rewards of research work in a dynamic and changing environment.,
