Key Responsibility
• Screen commercial and in-house enzymes for specific transformations (e.g., ester hydrolysis, ketone reduction).
• Study enzyme stability, recyclability and immobilization methods.
• Optimize reaction conditions (pH, co-solvent, temperature and cofactor).
• Work with analytical scientist for monitoring conversions & enantiomer excess.
• Screen chiral ligands, transition metal catalysts for asymmetric hydrogenation, oxidation or coupling reactions.
• Optimize catalytic loading and selectivity.
• Work on synthesis of novel ligands or catalyst precursors if required.
• Collaborate with process chemists for route improvement.
• Prepare reports on catalytic performance & scalability.
• Collaborate with process chemists to implement enzymatic steps.
