Required

:

Lead research on the economic dimensions related to natural resource management, climate change and rural development
Well-versed with Quantitative Techniques (sampling, Cost-Benefit Analysis, Valuation of Natural Resources, Impact Assessment methodology, econometric modelling)
Design and implement both qualitative and quantitative applied research studies/projects using an economic perspective
Proficiency in statistical/econometric software (Stata, R, SPSS, or equivalent)
Demonstrable knowledge in inter-disciplinary research and impact assessments
Research articles published in peer-reviewed journals/Scopus- indexed/high-impact-factor journals focusing on economics, climate change, and natural resource management
Write scientific reports, policy briefs on different studies conducted by WOTR related to Climate Change Adaptation, Integrated Land and Water
Management, Economics, Food and Nutrition Security, Biodiversity, and others
Good knowledge of policy analysis and quantitative data analysis, but should have the flexibility to do qualitative data analysis.
Willingness to diversify skills and activities in other relevant areas of economics (as per the needs of the organization)
Willingness to research with an interdisciplinary team
Co-ordination of research and field work
Good communication/writing skills in English and knowledge of local language (Marathi Hindi) is an added advantage

Write grant proposals from an economic perspective and secure funding for future research projects
Helping benchmark Sampling and Research Methodology Strategies
Support in creating a repository of evidence-based/demonstrable

Helping benchmark Sampling and Research Methodology Strategies Support in creating a repository of evidence-based/demonstrable tools/methodologies, /models to help create impacts from an economic lens with multiple stakeholders
Work in a team (lead or partner) to design and conduct interdisciplinary research, including, but not limited to: action research, systematic reviews and other synthesis products and database development
Willing to travel to different field locations within and outside the state
Communicate research results to diverse audiences, including policymakers, practitioners, and the villagers, using an economic lens
Collaborate with research academic institutions, government agencies, and non-governmental organisations (NGOs) working on NRM-related research projects and dissemination of findings
Design and conduct training and capacity building events focusing on the economic aspects of NRM, Rural Development
Stay updated on recent economics of NRM trends in development sectors and research, and integrate these into the organisation s work.
Design and Conduct impact assessment studies of various project interventions
Apply statistical/econometric tools (Stata, R, SPSS, Python, etc.) to analyze datasets and generate insights.
