Research Assistant / Research Associate

As a candidate for the position, your key responsibilities will include conducting industry-focused needs analysis to identify opportunities for women in emerging sectors, particularly in STEM fields. You will be tasked with identifying sector-specific job roles that are well-suited for women based on market trends and workplace dynamics. Additionally, you will assess socio-economic and cultural barriers that limit rural women's participation in STEM careers and the broader workforce. Your role will involve analyzing gender-inclusive industry policies, including recruitment practices, promotional strategies, workplace culture, and retention initiatives. You will also be expected to develop and contribute to project proposals based on both primary and secondary research, aimed at enhancing women's employment outcomes. Furthermore, you will conduct impact studies focusing on various aspects such as job placement rates, long-term job retention among women in skilled roles, factors contributing to workforce dropout, and gender-based promotion parity in comparison to male colleagues. To excel in this role, you should possess a postgraduate degree (or be pursuing the final year) in Gender Studies, Sociology, Economics, Public Policy, Development Studies, or related fields. Candidates with a background in STEM and a keen interest in gender issues are also encouraged to apply. Strong research and analytical skills, along with experience in qualitative and/or quantitative research methodologies, are essential. Familiarity with gender policy frameworks, employment, and skill development initiatives is highly desirable. Proficiency in drafting research reports, proposals, and academic papers is crucial.
