Job Description

The Clinical Coordinator of Rehabilitation Services at CHOC Children's acts as a leader and mentor to all staff and employees. Your responsibilities include maintaining productivity standards by adjusting staffing levels according to current census needs, collaborating with Financial Coordinators for daily schedule changes, and triaging new referrals/orders. You will provide direct patient care through evaluation, assessment, treatment planning, and modification as necessary. Additionally, you will offer feedback during performance appraisals, conduct new hire orientations, and coordinate clinical education opportunities for existing staff. Attending department and hospital-wide meetings to support program development may also be required. You should have a minimum of three years of clinical experience, preferably with at least one year at CHOC Children's. A degree from an Accredited professional college or university is required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and exceptional verbal and written communication skills are essential. Strong analytical, organizational, critical thinking, judgment, and problem-solving skills are also necessary. Being bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred. Mandatory licensures include Basic Life Support (BLS), CCS Paneled Department of Healthcare Services, Occupational Therapist License in CA, Physical Therapist License in CA, and SLP Board of Speech Language Pathology, Audiology & Hearing Aid Dispensers. The work environment requires medium to high energy levels and the ability to lift and carry 40-50 lbs. You should be capable of pushing/pulling +/- 150-200 lbs. (Patients on bed, stretcher), performing lateral transfers of 150-200 lbs. (e.g., patients), and engaging in various physical activities. Sensory requirements include color discrimination, depth perception, far vision, hearing, and near vision. Environmental factors such as Airborne Communicable Diseases, Bloodborne Pathogens, Chemical exposure, Dust Particulate Matter, Extreme Noise Levels, Extreme Temperatures, Radiation, and Uneven Surfaces or Elevations should be considered.
