Real estate Accountant

As a qualified candidate for this role, you will be responsible for a variety of financial and accounting tasks related to the real estate industry. Your key responsibilities will include: General Ledger Maintenance: - Prepare, record, and oversee the general ledger accounting process, which includes journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close procedures. - Ensure proper documentation and classification of transactions related to property operations, leasing, and financing. Banking Activities: - Coordinate with Bank personnel for various banking activities. - Handle and supervise Directors" personal accounts, Share account, portfolio, etc. Tax Compliance: - Coordinate with external tax advisors to ensure compliance with tax regulations and optimize tax strategies for real estate transactions. - Prepare and File schedules and supporting documentation for tax filings (TDS, GST, etc.), including property tax returns and company tax returns. Financial Reporting: - Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for various real estate assets, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards. Budgeting and Forecasting: - Collaborate with management to develop budgets and financial forecasts for real estate projects and portfolios. - Monitor actual performance against budgeted figures and provide variance analysis. Financial Analysis: - Conduct in-depth financial analysis of real estate investments, including ROI calculations, cash flow projections, and sensitivity analysis. - Provide insights to support decision-making regarding acquisitions, dispositions, and property management strategies. Internal Controls: - Implement and maintain internal control procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial data. - Conduct periodic audits and reviews to identify areas for improvement and mitigate risks. Financial Systems Management: - Utilize accounting software and financial systems to streamline processes and enhance reporting capabilities. - Identify opportunities for system enhancements or upgrades to improve efficiency and accuracy. Audit Support: - Serve as a key liaison during external audits, providing auditors with requested documentation, explanations, and analyses. - Address audit findings and implement recommended changes to strengthen internal controls and compliance. Qualifications/Experience: - Bachelor's/Master's degree in accounting, finance, or related field; CA, MBA, or equivalent certificate preferred. - 6+ years of progressive accounting experience in the real estate industry, with a strong understanding of real estate accounting principles and practices. - Proficiency in accounting software like Tally, Zoho, and Microsoft Excel. - Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and communicate findings effectively. - Experience managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and meeting tight deadlines. - Demonstrated leadership abilities and experience in supervising and developing accounting professionals. - Effective interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally with internal stakeholders & external partners.
