React Native Developer Role

We are seeking a skilled React Native developer with 1-2 years of hands-on experience to join our team. The role requires collaboration with graphic designers and the product team to design flexible and well-structured front-end architectures and supporting APIs. Developers will be responsible for creating visualizations capable of rendering vast amounts of data and developing complex designs for our virtual learning platform.

Responsibilities

• Architect, develop, and maintain high-quality React Native applications with clean code.
• Use additional JavaScript libraries, such as Redux or Zustand, React-Query, etc,. to make asynchronous API calls and enhance website performance and Styling libraries such as NativeWind, CSS, etc,.
• Implement pixel-perfect user interfaces that align with design specifications.
• Diagnose and repair bugs and performance bottlenecks to achieve native-like performance.
• Engage with the open source community to assist in implementing critical software fixes as React Native evolves.
• Utilize contemporary, smooth animations and transitions to provide an excellent user experience.
• Plan the data and presentation layers of the application's front end.
• Be part of a community of React Native developers who share knowledge and support one another.

Requirements

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science or Information Technology, with 1+ years of industry/hands-on experience.
• Extensive knowledge of React tools such as Webpack, React.js, React-Query, and Redux.
• Strong command of JavaScript, TypeScript including ES6+ syntax.
• Proficient in REST API, document request model, and offline storage.
• Ability to understand and align with FullStack clients' goals and deliver on promises.
• Effective team player who enjoys working in an office environment.
• Positive outlook and a proactive attitude.

Task: Build a Weather and News Aggregator App with Weather-Based

News Filtering

Objective: Develop an app using React-Native and TypeScript that fetches and displays weather information

and news headlines using publicly available APIs. The app should include a unique logic to filter news based on

the weather.

Requirements:

1. User Interface:

a. A home screen displaying weather information and news headlines

b. A settings screen where users can manage their preferences

2. Features

a. Weather Information:

i. Fetch current weather data based on the user's location

ii. Display temperature, weather conditions, and a five-day forecast.

iii. Use a publicly available weather API (e.g., OpenWeatherMap API).

b. NewsHeadlines:

i. Fetch the latest news headlines.

ii. Display headlines, brief descriptions, and links to full articles.

iii. Useapublicly available news API (e.g., NewsAPI).

c. Weather-Based News Filtering:

i. Implement logic to filter news based on the current weather:

1. If the weather is cold, show only depressing news headlines

2. If the weather is hot, show news articles related to fear.

3. If the weather is cool, show news articles about winning and happiness.

d. Settings:

i. Allow users to select their preferred units for temperature (Celsius/Fahrenheit).

ii. Enable users to select news categories they are interested in.

3. Technical Specifications:

a. Use React-Native for front-end development.

b. Use TypeScript as the programming language.

c. State management using Provider or Riverpod.

d. Fetch weather data using the OpenWeatherMap API.

e. Fetch news headlines using the NewsAPI.
