R&D Project Manager e-Mobility

Role Overview: Hitachi Energy India Development Centre (IDC) is seeking a proactive and experienced Team Manager to lead a team of R&D engineers in Chennai and Bangalore. As the Team Manager, you will be responsible for defining and implementing both long-term and short-term strategies to ensure the team delivers the expected value. You will collaborate with cross-functional project teams and drive the development of multiple product roadmap items. Additionally, you will be accountable for scope definition, budget estimation, risk management, compliance, and continuous improvement of processes. Key Responsibilities: - Lead cross-functional project teams in Power Electronics, Mechanics, Control and Automation, and Engineering in collaboration with line/program management. - Drive the development of multiple product roadmap items with R&D technical team and cross-functional stakeholders. - Develop accurate and comprehensive reporting on R&D projects and stakeholder management. - Implement backlog transparently and efficiently, ensuring quality and timeliness of releases. - Define scope, estimate budget, and plan different R&D projects. - Establish and manage partnerships with external development partners and production suppliers. - Collect and prioritize requirements from multiple stakeholders. - Manage risk, opportunity, and change control within projects. - Support the roll-out of releases to supply chain, engineering, and manufacturing, ensuring smooth handover to the operational organization. - Assist in continuously improving processes and ways of working towards lean and agile methods. - Ensure compliance with external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines. - Uphold Hitachi Energy's core values of safety and integrity. Qualifications Required: - University degree in technical fields (Electrical, Electronics, or Mechatronics Engineering, Computer Science, or similar) with over 5 years of experience. - >3 years of technical project management experience, including full lifecycle developments. - Experience in product development project management in a multisite and global team environment. - Good knowledge of Scrum framework or similar Agile-Lean stage gate frameworks. - Experience in EV charging is a plus. - Experience in product development projects in the Automotive industry using or knowledge of APQP (incl. D/PFMEA) is a plus. - Strong team and leadership skills. - Proactive, creative, and problem-solving individual with resistance to stressful situations. - Ability to work independently and self-motivated. - Willingness to travel. - Proficiency in both spoken and written English language.
