Role Overview:

The Raw Material Purchase Executive for the R&D Department will be responsible for sourcing, procuring, and managing samples and small-batch raw materials required for product development and formulation work. This role requires high attention to detail, strong coordination skills, and the ability to work closely with formulators, vendors, and the quality team.

Key Responsibilities:

R&D Material Procurement:

• Source and procure raw material samples required for formulation and new product development.

• Identify suppliers for specialty ingredients, actives, fragrances, pigments, and experimental materials.

• Obtain COAs, MSDS, technical datasheets, regulatory documents, and trial quantities.

Vendor & Market Research:

• Identify new suppliers and innovative ingredients aligned with R&D needs.

• Maintain a database of vendors, pricing, MOQs, and lead times.

• Conduct cost and trend research for new/exotic raw materials.

Coordination with R&D Team:

• Work closely with formulators and R&D executives to understand ingredient requirements.

• Ensure timely delivery of samples for lab trials and pilot batches.

• Track batch requirements and relay constraints or availability issues to R&D.

Excellent coordination, communication, and negotiation skills.

Purchase Operations:

• Process purchase requests, quotations, and approvals.

• Manage logistics for sample materials, including follow-up on dispatch and delivery.

• Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping for R&D materials.

Quality & Compliance:

• Coordinate with QC/QA to ensure raw materials meet quality specifications.

• Maintain compliance documents and support regulatory submissions when needed.

Inventory & Material Handling:

• Maintain R&D sample inventory, stock levels, and safe storage.

• Assist in coding, labeling, and proper documentation of incoming materials.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in any Field.

• 2–5 years of experience in raw material purchasing for R&D or formulation environments.

• Strong understanding of cosmetic/pharma raw materials and specifications.

• Excellent coordination, communication, and negotiation skills.

• Ability to manage multiple requests with urgency and accuracy.

Preferred Experience:

• Experience working with R&D teams in cosmetics, skincare, personal care, or pharma industries.

• Knowledge of innovative ingredients, global supplier markets, and regulatory documentation.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹400,000.00 - ₹500,000.00 per year
