Radiology typist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and efficient Typist (Medical Transcriptionist) to join our Fetal Medicine and Radiology Department. The ideal candidate will be responsible for accurately typing and formatting medical reports, ensuring timely delivery, and maintaining the confidentiality of patient information. Experience with medical terminology, especially related to radiology and fetal medicine, is preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

• Type and format medical reports, scan findings, and doctor’s notes accurately and efficiently.
• Ensure all typed reports meet departmental formatting and quality standards.
• Handle sensitive patient data with the highest level of confidentiality.
• Coordinate with doctors, sonographers, and administrative staff for report corrections or updates.
• Manage daily workflow to ensure timely report delivery.
• File and organize digital or printed reports as required.
• Perform basic administrative duties related to documentation and record-keeping.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Minimum education: High School Diploma or equivalent (Bachelor’s preferred).
• Proven typing speed of 50+ words per minute with high accuracy.
• Prior experience as a typist or transcriptionist in a medical or radiology setting preferred.
• Good knowledge of medical terminology, especially in fetal medicine and radiology.

Work Environment:

• Office-based role within the Fetal Medicine and Radiology Department.
• Collaborative team of consultants, radiologists, sonographers, and administrative staff.
