Quant Analyst

The Quant Analyst will be responsible for developing and validating models to estimate power demand, generation, and nodal prices. You will collaborate directly with traders to optimize portfolio construction using engineering techniques. A key aspect of your role will involve familiarizing yourself with energy markets and implementing innovative quantitative techniques. Additionally, you will collaborate with the risk management team to measure, analyze, and mitigate risks in our power trading business. Your responsibilities will include: - Collaborating with the nodal trading team to develop, manage, and enhance quantitative models for nodal power markets. - Conducting statistical analysis of electricity nodal market price and demand data. - Building statistical load/generation models using Time Series and Regression-based techniques. - Applying financial engineering techniques/models to enhance and optimize portfolio construction. - Developing metrics to assess market attributes and producing reports to quantify market behavior. - Utilizing Data Mining techniques to identify signals in semi-structured data sets. Requirements: - Bachelor's degree in Financial Engineering, Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Operations Research, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, or Statistics. - 2-4 years of experience in developing, maintaining, and supporting analytical libraries and pricing models. - Proficiency in Python programming and SQL databases. - Understanding of statistical and probability principles in Finance. - Familiarity with optimization techniques and statistical learning methods. - Strong interest in comprehending the Energy Markets. - Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to deliver results under pressure and a willingness to work in a collaborative team environment.,
