Job Description

As a Quality Test Analyst (QTA) at Wabtec Corporation, you will play a crucial role in driving exceptional product quality, ensuring customer value beyond expectations, and optimizing costs while maintaining quality control processes. Your responsibilities will include: - Demonstrating hands-on experience in Locomotive Assembly Area - Taking charge of the quality of manufacturing assembly work, problem-solving, in-process defects optimization, and process compliance - Possessing expertise in fastening, tightening, torquing, cable routing, crimping, and sealant application - Leading structured Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) for continuous improvement - Being proactive in improving product and process quality through Quality Assurance and Quality Control approaches - Collaborating cross-functionally with Operations, Manufacturing Engineering (ME), Supplier Quality Engineering (SQE), etc., to meet and drive quality requirements - Working on systems like Reliance, Oracle, MES for Non-Conforming Material Report (NCMR) creation and timely follow-up with stakeholders for disposition, rework, and RCA/CA - Recording and tracking internal quality escape defects and driving for permanent closure - Driving Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) requirements thoroughly, including Manufacturing Inspection Plan (MIP), Control Plan, Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA), Gauge Repeatability and Reproducibility (GR&R), and Statistical Process Control (SPC) for the product line - Striving towards achieving the vision of zero escape defects within the upstream supply chain/manufacturing - Preparing/reviewing Detection plans for incoming, in-process, and finished goods - Following and adhering to Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) and compliance processes Qualifications and Requirements: - Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering - Minimum 10-12 years of experience in the assembly of Rolling Stock or Heavy Equipment industry - Good background in interpreting Engineering drawings/specifications and manufacturing processes - Excellent knowledge of Assembly Process and 7QC Tools - Exposure to New Product Introduction, PPAP, and Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) - Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to drive internal/external customer quality requirements Desired Characteristics: - Proactive, prompt, structured, and detail-oriented - Excellent interpersonal skills for working closely with a diverse group - Demonstrated oral and written communication skills - Strong analytical and presentation skills, team player (Note: Additional details about Wabtec Corporation have been omitted as they were not present in the provided job description),
