Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

Activity A:

Quality Inspections

Percentage:

  • Primary responsibility is to check and confirm the product completeness before customer inspection & dispatch.
  • Inprocess & incoming inspection management
  • Compile all Quality Control reports, create statistical process control metrics, non-conformity material, discrepancy reports, recommend and continuous improvement activities.
  • Supplier selection, assessment and evaluation of each material as per ISO and ensure the same quality maintained.
  • Inspection and controlling of in-house activities and purchases from the suppliers.
  • Identify the root cause and implement corrective action and preventive actions.
  • Reviewing of job file before going into the shop floor and working out whether there are any deviations, stage wise.
  • Thorough understanding of inspection & testing of various transformer components/materials.
  • Ensure readiness of transformers in all respect before offering for the customer inspection.
  • Conduct through dispatch inspections to minimize customer complaints
  • Exposure in establishing & implementing Vendor Qualification & Assessment Systems.
  • Supervise, support and train Team.
  • Continuous Improvement initiatives.

Activity B:

Record Maintenance & Process implementation

Percentage:

  • Process inspection and updating the record of inspection status.
  • Preparation for process inspection and updating the record.
  • Validating and recording actual vs observation values in inspection records.
  • Calibration, identification, categorization of instrument and maintain the respective records.
  • Maintain list of quality records concerning to their respective departments.
  • Maintaining, updating and controlling ISO documents.

Activity C:

Continuous Improvement

Percentage:

  • Control of all quality related activities and continuous improvement and constant review stage wise process.
  • Investigate and record customer complaints regarding product performance, specifications and reliability.
  • Reviewing and improving the existing standards and documents.
  • 10-15 years of extensive experience in Quality Management, EHS Management, Organizational Excellence, Process Enhancements, Training & Development.
  • Exposure in developing & deployment of organizational Quality Assurance objectives.
  • Domain expertise in Quality Management Systems & implementing continual improvement tools & techniques.
  • Well versed with implementation as MR for ISO9001, ISO14001 & OHSAS 18001.
  • Proficient in implementing SPC, MSA, Gauge R & R Studies, FMEA,
  • Well versed with the latest Transformer manufacturing processes
  • Completes required training and development objectives within the assigned time frame.

Critical Elements & Other Responsibilities:

  • Bachelor Degree (BE/B.Tech) in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent degree.
  • Experience in transformers industry.
  • Minimum 12 to 18 years of progressive Quality experience.
  • Knowledge on Management systems like Q.M.S, E.M.S & OHSAS.
  • Familiarity with Electrical and Mechanical Engineering concepts
  • Should know ability to upgrade the existing practices to the world standards.
  • Should have good analyses of the situation, problem identification and rectification mechanism.
  • Working with Purchase Dept. to establish quality requirements from external suppliers.
  • Communicating with the suppliers and finalizing the corrective actions during the stage wise inspection.
  • Inspection of all material procured & in-house manufacturing, Supervising technical staff in carrying out tests and checks.
  • Monitoring performance by gathering relevant data and producing statistical reports.
  • Identifying relevant quality-related training needs and delivering training.
  • Commanding, credibility, integrity, discretion, diplomacy, flexibility, emotional intelligence.
  • Excellent verbal, written communication, interpersonal and motivational skills.
  • Effective leadership skills, with strong focus on operations and business processes.
  • Sound analytical thinking, planning, prioritization and execution skills.
  • Willingness to travel and work in a global team of professionals.
  • Should have good knowledge on MS office to analyze using spreadsheets & make presentations, preferably any ERP.
  • Creative and innovative thinking with fresh approaches.
  • Risk management and strong ability in handling stress and meet both company and customer expectations.
  • Local language is a must along with English and Hindi.
  • The Person will be based in our office in India.
