Lead daily quality operations across the fabrication floor, ensuring compliance with
welding codes (e.g., AWS D1.1, IS standards)
, fabrication drawings, and customer specifications.
Develop, implement, and maintain
inspection plans, WPS/PQR/WPQ documentation
, and quality checkpoints at each stage of fabrication.
Coordinate with Production, Design, and Planning teams to address drawing deviations, fit-up issues, and process bottlenecks.
Manage
in-process and final inspections
including
visual inspection, dimensional checks, NDT (UT, RT, MPI, DPI)
, and documentation of results.
Drive
root cause analysis (RCA)
and implement
Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA)
for any non-conformities.
Champion quality initiatives based on
Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma
, and
5S principles
to reduce rework, scrap, and delays.
Liaise with
external inspection agencies (e.g., TPI, customer representatives)
and maintain traceable inspection documentation as per project quality plan.
Ensure all fabrication activities align with relevant
ISO 9001
,
ISO 3834
, or
EN1090
standards, and maintain audit readiness.
Collaborate with Supply Chain and Procurement teams to
qualify vendors
, review incoming raw material test certificates (MTCs), and enforce material traceability.
Support training programs for welders and fabricators on
quality awareness, interpretation of fabrication drawings, and standard procedures
