Quality Engineer

Role Purpose

The Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring that all products, materials, and processes meet Homegenie Building Products quality standards, customer specifications, and regulatory requirements. The role focuses on maintaining product quality across manufacturing, installation, and delivery stages.


Key Responsibilities

1. Quality Control & Assurance

  • Monitor and ensure quality standards at all stages of production and installation.

  • Conduct incoming, in-process, and final inspections of materials and finished products.

  • Ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards.

  • Identify defects, root causes, and corrective actions.

2. Process & Product Quality

  • Implement quality control plans, SOPs, and checklists.

  • Ensure adherence to manufacturing and installation processes.

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce defects and rework.

  • Conduct trial runs, sample approvals, and first-article inspections.

3. Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain quality records, inspection reports, test reports, and NCRs.

  • Prepare and update quality documentation as per ISO / internal standards.

  • Track non-conformances and ensure closure of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).

  • Coordinate internal audits and support external audits if required.

4. Vendor & Material Quality

  • Inspect incoming raw materials and vendor supplies.

  • Coordinate with suppliers to resolve quality issues.

  • Participate in vendor quality evaluation and development.

5. Coordination & Communication

  • Coordinate with Production, Sales, Installation, and Logistics teams.

  • Support customer inspections and address quality-related complaints.

  • Provide quality feedback to cross-functional teams.

6. Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure quality practices align with safety and statutory requirements.

  • Promote a culture of quality and continuous improvement on the shop floor and site.


Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of quality control tools and techniques.

  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings and specifications.

  • Problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.

  • Good documentation and reporting skills.

  • Strong coordination and communication abilities.


Qualifications

  • Diploma / BE / B.Tech in Mechanical / Civil / Production / Industrial Engineering or related field.

  • Certification in Quality Management / ISO (preferred).


Experience

  • 3-4 years of experience as a Quality Engineer in manufacturing / building materials / construction-related industry.

  • Experience in shopfloor and site quality management is an advantage.

  • Timely closure of NCRs and CAPA

  • Audit compliance score


Working Conditions

  • Shopfloor and site-based role

  • Willingness to travel to project sites if required
