Quality Control (Civil Engineering)

As a Quality Control Engineer, your role involves developing and implementing quality control procedures and checklists for construction projects. You will ensure that materials and workmanship meet the required specifications and standards by coordinating with suppliers to verify the quality of delivered materials. Regular inspections at various stages of construction, including foundations, structural works, and finishes, will be conducted under your supervision. You will be responsible for performing or overseeing on-site testing such as concrete slump tests, compressive strength tests, and soil compaction tests. Maintaining detailed records of test results and inspection reports is crucial to ensure adherence to local building codes, safety regulations, and quality standards like ISO and ASTM. Identifying and rectifying any non-conformities in construction processes and preparing comprehensive quality reports, including NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports) and corrective actions, are part of your duties. Another aspect of your role involves maintaining updated project quality documentation, including logs, test certificates, and calibration records. Collaboration with project engineers, contractors, and subcontractors to address quality-related concerns and providing guidance to site staff on quality assurance practices will be essential. Coordinating with third-party inspectors and auditors when required and suggesting/implementing improvements in construction methods and materials to enhance quality are also part of the responsibilities. Furthermore, conducting training sessions for site personnel on quality standards and best practices will be necessary.
