Quality Assurance Tester

Role Overview: As a QA Manual Tester for our client, you will be responsible for testing IoT-based applications, embedded firmware, and backend systems. Your role will involve developing and executing manual test cases, validating end-to-end functionality of IoT solutions, performing integration testing, collaborating with cross-functional teams, tracking bugs, and ensuring device performance across various communication protocols. Your expertise in manual QA testing, IoT, firmware development lifecycle, RESTful APIs, network protocols, debugging, and cloud platforms will be crucial for success in this role. Key Responsibilities: - Develop and execute manual test cases for IoT devices, embedded firmware, mobile/web applications, and backend services. - Validate end-to-end functionality of IoT solutions including device connectivity, cloud sync, OTA updates, and sensor data accuracy. - Perform integration testing across multiple layers - device firmware, API, backend, and mobile/web UI. - Collaborate with developers, firmware engineers, and product managers to ensure test coverage. - Log and track bugs using tools like JIRA, and work with development teams to resolve issues. - Verify device performance across different communication protocols (e.g., BLE, Wi-Fi, MQTT, Zigbee). - Execute regression, smoke, and sanity tests during sprint cycles and release phases. - Test firmware updates and validate rollback procedures on embedded hardware. - Review and provide feedback on test plans, release criteria, and design specifications. - Simulate real-world usage scenarios and edge cases for IoT hardware. Qualification Required: - 2+ years of experience in manual QA testing, with a strong focus on IoT or embedded systems. - Good understanding of firmware development lifecycle and hardware/software integration. - Experience testing RESTful APIs, using tools like Postman or cURL. - Familiarity with network protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, MQTT, HTTP, CoAP) and data formats like JSON. - Strong debugging and log analysis skills. - Experience working with hardware test environments, simulators, and physical devices. - Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS IoT, Azure IoT, or similar) is a plus. - Experience using test case management tools like TestRail or Zephyr.,
