Job Objective: To lead and manage the Quality Assurance activities for the design, development, testing, and deployment of the Automatic Train Protection (ATP) System, ensuring adherence to SIL-4 safety standards, RDSO specifications, and international functional safety norms (EN 50128, IEC 61508). Key Responsibilities: Quality Planning & Governance Develop and implement QA strategy, processes, and policies specific to Kavach development lifecycle. Define quality objectives, KPIs, and acceptance criteria in alignment with RDSO and SIL4 requirements. Prepare the Quality Assurance Plan (QAP) in accordance with Indian Railways and CENELEC standards. Standards & Compliance Ensure compliance with safety-critical software development standards: EN 50128, IEC 61508, ISO 9001, and RDSO-issued specifications. Drive process adherence across partners for joint development and documentation. Documentation & Audits Review and approve technical documents such as SRS, SDS, FMEA, Traceability Matrix, Test Plans, and Validation Reports. Coordinate internal audits, gap analyses, and third-party SIL certification audits (e.g., TUV, RDSO inspections). Ensure traceability of requirements through all stages of design, development, and testing. Testing & Verification Oversight Ensure V&V activities comply with applicable safety norms, including black-box, white-box, integration, and field trial testing. Review test protocols and results from software, hardware, and system integration tests. Monitor non-conformances (NCRs), CAPA activities, and regression tracking. Vendor & Subsystem QA Coordination Interface with hardware and software development partners (e.g., VAPL, Tata Elxsi) to ensure quality compliance. Support review and verification of PCB designs, hardware validation, and environmental testing. Customer & Stakeholder Engagement Coordinate with RDSO, IRISET, and Indian Railways for QA-related clarifications, issue resolution, and reporting. Participate in field trial readiness assessments and QA reporting for Go-Live approvals. Required Qualifications: Bachelor's / Masters degree in Electronics, Electrical, Embedded Systems, or a related discipline. 8+ years of QA experience in safety-critical systems, preferably in Railway Signaling / Transportation sector. Certified in ISO 9001, IEC 61508, or EN 50128 preferred. Key Skills & Competencies: Strong knowledge of SIL4 certification process Familiarity with railway standards and Kavach specifications Hands-on experience in QMS documentation, audits, and regulatory compliance Excellent coordination and reporting skills across multi-vendor environments Proficiency in tools like DOORS, JIRA, or quality tracking systems Optional Add-ons: Experience in Kavach system architecture or Automatic Train Protection (ATP) is a strong plus Exposure to field validation, lab testing, or RDSO interface projects
