Job Profile:

Role Overview

The Quality Assurance (QA) Lead will be responsible for driving the end-to-end quality assurance function for a large-scale software and portal migration program. The role involves leading the QA team, defining test strategies, ensuring complete test coverage, managing data validation cycles, and ensuring delivery of high-quality, audit-ready outcomes.

This position requires strong expertise in functional, integration, API, and regression testing, along with experience managing multi-system environments and coordinating performance and security testing activities.

Key Responsibilities

1. QA Strategy & Leadership

• Define and implement the overall QA strategy, test plans, and testing processes.
• Lead, mentor, and manage QA teams across multiple modules and vendor teams.
• Ensure structured and timely test execution aligned with project goals and quality standards.

2. Test Planning & Execution

• Prepare and review Test Plans, Test Scenarios, Test Cases, and Traceability Matrices (RTM).
• Ensure comprehensive coverage for:
• Functional Testing
• Integration Testing
• System Testing
• Regression Testing
• API Testing
• UAT Support
• Coordinate performance and security testing with specialized teams.

3. Data Quality & Migration Testing

• Validate large datasets across multiple applications and sources.
• Conduct data accuracy, consistency, and transformation checks.
• Review ETL/data migration outputs, ensuring proper parsing, cleansing, and mapping.

4. Defect Management & RCA

• Own the complete defect lifecyclelogging, triaging, prioritization, and closure.
• Conduct Root Cause Analysis for recurring issues and drive corrective actions.
• Collaborate closely with development, data, product, and vendor teams to ensure timely resolution.

5. QA Governance & Documentation

• Maintain audit-ready QA documentation, including evidence and validation artifacts.
• Prepare QA dashboards, defect metrics, test execution reports, and quality summaries.
• Ensure adherence to organizational and project quality standards.
• Exposure to CMMI processes (PPQA/VER/REQM/CM) is preferred.

6. Stakeholder Collaboration

• Work closely with Developers, Business Analysts, Architects, Product Owners, and Vendors.
• Support User Acceptance Testing and facilitate UAT sign-off.
• Communicate quality risks, impacts, and mitigation plans to leadership.

Required Skills & Competencies (Mandatory)

• Strong experience in Functional, Integration, API, and Regression Testing.
• Expertise in test management tools such as JIRA, HP ALM, TestRail.
• Hands-on knowledge of:

• Performance tools:

• Strong understanding of data validation, ETL testing, and handling large datasets.
• Excellent documentation, reporting, analytical, and communication skills.
• Proven experience leading QA teams in medium to large IT projects.

Good-to-Have Skills

• Experience in e-Governance, BFSI, telecom, or other large enterprise environments.
• Exposure to AI-based testing or automated data quality validation.
• Experience with cloud platforms or CI/CD DevOps pipelines.
• Understanding of security and compliance testing.
• Knowledge of Big Data tools (Hadoop, Spark).

Educational Qualification

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Certifications such as ISTQB Advanced, CSTE, or equivalent are preferred.
