Quality Assurance and Automation Engineer

Key purpose of the role:

To ensure the quality and reliability of software applications through the design, development, and execution of automated test scripts. The role involves validating functional and non-functional requirements, identifying defects, and contributing to continuous integration and continuous testing (CI/CT) processes in an Agile environment.

What Key Tasks will

• As a Quality Analyst (Automation), the candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining automated test scripts using tools like Selenium, TestNG, or similar frameworks.
• The role involves close collaboration with developers, business analysts, and manual testers to understand requirements and create effective test scenarios.
• The candidate will execute automated test suites, analyze results to identify bugs, and ensure thorough regression testing with high test coverage.
• They will maintain and enhance the automation framework based on project needs, identify opportunities for automation in both UI and API layers, and document test results and defects while tracking them to closure.
• Additionally, the role requires active participation in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives, as well as working with CI/CD tools like Jenkins and Git to integrate automated tests into the build pipeline.

Idea Candidate Profile:

• Candidate with 13 years of automation testing experience, skilled in Selenium with Java, TestNG, POM, Maven, API tools (Postman/REST Assured), Git, and Agile practices, with strong debugging and documentation skills.
• Having worked in a start-up environment or small to mid- sized companies is desirable but not mandatory
• Industry standard Testing Processes & Methodologies
• Quick learner, who can work under pressure of tight deadlines, who thinks defect prevention over defect identification
• Graduate / Engineering degree in Computer Sciences/ Computer Applications
• Strong verbal & written communication
• Ability to work across cross-functional & remote teams
• Ability to handle difference of opinion.
• Friendly, yet assertive demeanour
• Self-motivated, creative thinker who takes ownership & accountability
