Job Description

Job Title: QC Officer
Location: Ambernath East
Experience Required: 2 – 4 Years

Roles & Responsibilities:
The QC Officer will ensure that all plastic caps and closures—manufactured in-house or through job work—meet quality standards across all stages of production. Responsibilities include inspecting raw materials, moulds, in-process parts, and finished goods, ensuring compliance with company, customer, and quality specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Raw Material Inspection:

  • Inspect incoming resins (PP, HDPE, LDPE), masterbatches, and additives as per specifications.
  • Verify supplier COA (Certificate of Analysis) and maintain inspection records.
  • Segregate and label Accepted / Rejected / Hold materials.
  • Ensure proper storage and traceability of approved lots.

2. Job Work Material Inspection:

  • Inspect caps or semi-finished goods received from external vendors.
  • Check dimensional accuracy, color shade matching, visual defects, and functional fitment.
  • Verify vendor quality reports and maintain job work inspection records.
  • Communicate rejections and feedback to vendors and support corrective actions.

3. Mould Inspection & Maintenance:

  • Inspect moulds and cavities during start-up, after maintenance, and before batch runs.
  • Check cavity balance, flash, burrs, wear and tear, venting, and surface finish.
  • Conduct first-off approval after mould setup or changeover.
  • Coordinate with the tool room and production team for corrective action on mould defects.
  • Maintain mould history cards and inspection checklists.

4. In-Process Inspection:

  • Perform hourly / lot-wise inspections on running machines.
  • Check parameters such as cap weight, dimensions, torque, thread accuracy, liner placement, and seal tightness.
  • Verify visual quality (color, shine, contamination, deformation).
  • Maintain in-process inspection logs and defect trend charts.

5. Final Inspection:

  • Conduct final lot inspection as per AQL sampling plan before dispatch.
  • Operate QC instruments such as vernier calipers, micrometers, torque testers, vacuum leak testers, compression testers, color spectrophotometers, plug gauges, and ring gauges.
  • Conduct drop tests, seal tests, and fitment tests as per product specifications.

6. Documentation & Reporting:

  • Maintain material inspection reports (RM, job work, FG), mould inspection records, and defect analysis.
  • Prepare Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) reports.
  • Generate daily, weekly, and monthly QC summary reports.

7. Continuous Improvement & Training:

  • Suggest process and mould improvements to reduce recurring defects.
  • Train operators and job workers on defect identification and quality awareness.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of QC tools and testing instruments.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with production, tool room, and vendors.
  • Good communication and reporting skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹22,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
