QAQC Engineer (Civil, Mechanical)

QAQC Civil

Key Roles & Responsibilities

1. Quality Planning & Documentation

• Implement the Project Quality Plan (PQP) and Inspection & Test Plan (ITP) for all civil and structural works.
• Review and verify quality-related documents including method statements, material submittals, and shop drawings for compliance with project specifications.
• Maintain up-to-date records of inspection reports, test results, NCRs, and QA/QC registers.

2. Material Inspection & Control

• Conduct incoming material inspections for concrete, steel, aggregates, cement, blocks, waterproofing materials, etc.
• Ensure materials are approved and conform to the relevant standards and specifications before use.
• Coordinate with suppliers and procurement teams on quality-related issues.

3. Construction Quality Monitoring

• Conduct inspections for shuttering, reinforcement, formwork, concreting, waterproofing, finishing, and other civil activities as per approved ITPs.
• Monitor quality during concrete pouring and ensure proper curing, compaction, and testing.
• Verify levels, alignments, and dimensional accuracy in line with design requirements.

4. Testing & Inspection

• Coordinate third-party lab testing for concrete, soil, and other materials as required.
• Ensure test reports meet specified acceptance criteria and take corrective actions where deviations occur.
• Maintain calibration records of testing equipment.

5. Non-Conformance & Corrective Action

• Identify, record, and track non-conformances (NCRs) and initiate corrective/preventive actions.
• Follow up on the closure of NCRs in coordination with site execution and project management teams.

6. Coordination & Communication

• Liaise with consultants, clients, and subcontractors for inspections and approvals.
• Support internal and external audits by providing quality records and evidence.
• Participate in quality meetings and contribute to continual improvement initiatives.

7. Handover & Documentation

• Prepare final quality dossiers, as-built documentation, and completion certificates.
• Ensure all QA/QC records are archived and traceable for project handover.
  

QAQC Mechanical

Key Roles & Responsibilities

1. Quality Planning & Implementation

• Implement and maintain the mechanical portion of the Project Quality Plan (PQP), Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), and Method Statements.
• Verify that all mechanical materials and equipment comply with approved submittals and standards.
• Ensure proper traceability of materials and maintain QA/QC records for all inspections.

2. Material & Equipment Quality Control

• Inspect received equipment such as AHUs, chillers, CRAC units, pumps, valves, ducts, and piping materials.
• Verify MTCs (Material Test Certificates), calibration certificates, and supplier QA documents.
• Ensure proper material storage and handling to prevent damage or deterioration.

3. Installation Quality Assurance

• Conduct inspections and testing for ductwork, piping, supports, insulation, welding, and hydrotesting activities as per ITPs.
• Ensure cleanliness, alignment, and proper slope during installation to meet design and operational standards.
• Verify system integration and coordination with other trades (electrical, civil, ELV, etc.).

4. Testing & Commissioning Support

• Witness pre-commissioning and testing activities such as hydrostatic tests, pressure tests, flushing, and system balancing.
• Ensure mechanical systems meet design performance parameters before commissioning handover.
• Coordinate with commissioning engineers for final validation and punch list closure.

5. Non-Conformance & Corrective Action

• Identify non-conformances in installation or materials and issue NCRs.
• Recommend corrective and preventive measures and verify their implementation.
• Track NCR closure and maintain documentation.

6. Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain daily inspection reports, QA checklists, and test records.
• Prepare weekly quality performance reports and submit to the QA/QC Manager and Project Manager.
• Ensure all mechanical QA/QC documentation is included in the final handover dossier.

7. Coordination & Audits

• Coordinate with consultants and clients for inspection and approval of work stages.
• Support internal and external quality audits and ensure compliance with ISO 9001.
• Participate in project quality meetings and tool-box talks on quality awareness.
