PF below the modified must have and optional skills for embedded firmware tester(QA Tester)
1. Embedded Systems Fundamentals
Understanding of microcontrollers (NXP, STM32 or ESP32)
Familiarity with memory architectures (Flash, RAM, EEPROM)
2. Firmware & Embedded Software Testing
Experience testing firmware in real-time and resource-constrained environments
Knowledge of testing techniques: black-box, white-box, gray-box testing
Ability to test bare-metal as well as RTOS-based firmware
3. C/C++ Programming
Proficient in reading, understanding, and debugging embedded C code
5. Debugging & Test Tools
Familiarity with:
Oscilloscopes
Logic analyzers
Multimeters
JTAG/SWD debuggers
Putty
Wireshark
6. Documentation :
Good in documentation and should be able keep tracks of Firmware version/ bugs
7. Optional :
Understanding of Networking protocols like TCP, UDP and MQTT
Experience with embedded IDEs (e.g., Keil, IAR, STM32CubeIDE) - optional
Understanding of Microprocessors
