Python Developer - Data & AI Focus (Data Science)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Python Developer for Data Science department with deep expertise in data science. This role demands strong experience in designing, developing, deploying, and maintaining full-stack production-grade AI/ ML solutions. The ideal candidate will bring 5+ years of Python development, a solid foundation in software engineering principles, and a passion for supporting projects that apply machine learning, AI, and statistical modelling to generate actionable insights and drive business value.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with stakeholders to define and translate business challenges into data science solutions
• Build, deploy, and optimize machine learning and AI models to support predictive analytics, automation, and business decision-making
• Architect, build, and maintain Python backend APIs that power data-driven products, dashboards, and operational tools
• Optimize database interactions and data storage solutions, including SQL/NoSQL databases and data lake/warehouse environments
• Implement secure, scalable backend architectures, including authentication, authorization, API security, and data protection best practices
• Document system designs, workflows, code, and operational procedures to ensure clarity and maintainability
• Monitor and troubleshoot production pipelines, ensuring high reliability, data quality, and system performance
• Work with cloud services (e.g. Azure, AWS) to build and deploy scalable data and application infrastructure

Must Have:

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering, Data Science or a related field
• 5+ years of Python development with strong software engineering and logical problem-solving skills
• Strong proficiency in Python and core libraries (Pandas, NumPy, FastAPI/Flask, SQLAlchemy, etc.)
• Solid understanding of SQL and working with relational databases
• Experience developing and operationalizing machine learning models (scikit-learn, PyTorch, TensorFlow, etc.)
• Strong knowledge of Fast, Flask, REST and/or GraphQL API development
• Hands-on experience deploying applications on Azure (Functions, AKS, Storage, App Services, etc.)
• Deep understanding of performance tuning, caching, and response optimization
• Knowledge of backend security fundamentals (auth, API security, secrets management, encryption)
• Exposure to monitoring/logging tools (e.g. Azure Monitor, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK)
• Familiarity with version control, CI/CD processes, and deployment best practices
• Strong grasp of data structures, algorithms, and software design patterns

Good-to-Have:

• Hands-on experience with OpenAI, Anthropic APIs, or open-source LLMs
• Understanding of manufacturing systems (MES, SCADA, historians, ERP integration)
• Knowledge of containerization and orchestration
• Experience with streamlit, Dash, or other Python-based UI frameworks
