Purview Tester

Job Description

Test Execution: Execute automated and manual tests on different data sources+ environments+ and user roles to identify defects and potential issues. Defect Management: Log detailed defect reports with clear descriptions+ steps to reproduce+ and expected behaviour+ and collaborate with development teams to prioritize and resolve issues. Data Governance Validation: Verify that data governance policies and controls implemented in Purview are effectively applied across the organization+ ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. Performance Testing: Conduct performance tests to evaluate the scalability and efficiency of Purview features under various load conditions. Integration Testing: Test integrations between Purview and other Microsoft products like Azure+ Microsoft 365+ and Power BI to ensure seamless data flow and governance. Automation Development: Develop and maintain automated test scripts using appropriate testing frameworks to streamline the testing process. Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with product owners+ data governance teams+ and developers to understand business requirements and translate them into effective test strategies. Required Skills and Experience: Strong understanding of data governance principles+ data classification+ and compliance regulations Expertise in Microsoft Purview functionalities including Data Catalog+ Data Map+ Data Policies+ and Data Estate Insights Experience with software testing methodologies (black-box+ white-box+ regression+ performance testing) Proficiency in scripting languages like PowerShell or Python for test automation Familiarity with Azure cloud platform and data management services Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to identify root causes of issues Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams
