Purchase Manager

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with company objectives and project timelines.
• Forecast material requirements for RRV manufacturing and railway construction projects.
• Identify, evaluate, and onboard suppliers for specialized railway components, heavy machinery parts, and fabrication materials.
• Negotiate contracts, pricing, and delivery schedules to ensure cost-effectiveness and reliability.
• Ensure adherence to railway industry standards, safety regulations, and ISO certifications.
• Collaborate with Quality Assurance teams to maintain supplier quality benchmarks.
• Monitor procurement budgets and implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality.
• Analyse market trends and commodity pricing to optimize purchasing decisions.
• Work closely with warehouse and logistics teams to maintain optimal inventory levels.
• Ensure timely delivery of critical components to avoid production delays.
• Lead and mentor the procurement team, fostering a culture of efficiency and accountability.
• Prepare regular reports on procurement performance, supplier KPIs, and cost analysis for senior management.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
• Minimum 812 years of experience in procurement within railway, heavy engineering, or automotive sectors.
• Strong knowledge of railway standards, RRV components, and fabrication materials.
• Excellent negotiation, analytical, and vendor management skills.
