Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Purchase Planning & Procurement:
  • Identify material requirements based on production and sales forecasts.
  • Prepare and issue purchase orders as per approved requisitions.
  • Maintain adequate stock levels to avoid shortages or overstocking.
  • Vendor Management:
  • Identify, evaluate, and onboard suppliers/vendors.
  • Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and negotiate favorable terms (price, delivery, payment).
  • Ensure vendor compliance with quality and delivery standards.
  • Cost Control & Budgeting:
  • Obtain multiple quotations and conduct cost comparisons.
  • Monitor and control procurement costs within approved budgets.
  • Negotiate for discounts, credit terms, and volume deals.
  • Documentation & Compliance:
  • Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, invoices, and delivery notes.
  • Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies and statutory regulations (GST, FSSAI, etc.).
  • Coordinate with accounts for timely supplier payments.
  • Inventory Coordination:
  • Work closely with storekeepers and inventory teams to monitor stock levels.
  • Coordinate with warehouse and production departments for material availability.
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Market Research:
  • Stay updated on market trends, material prices, and availability.
  • Source alternatives for critical items in case of shortages or price hikes.
  • Vendor Evaluation & Quality Control:
  • Monitor and evaluate vendor performance (delivery, quality, responsiveness).
  • Coordinate with the quality control department to address any quality issues.

Key Skills Required:

  • Strong negotiation and communication skills
  • Knowledge of FMCG materials and packaging standards
  • Good understanding of procurement software (e.g., Tally, ERP, SAP)
  • Analytical and decision-making abilities
  • Time management and multitasking
  • Knowledge of basic tax and compliance regulations (GST, E-way bills, etc.)

Qualification & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce / Supply Chain / Business Management
  • 2–4 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in an FMCG or food industry
  • Experience with procurement tools and inventory systems

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
