Role & responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

Procurement & Purchasing

  • Execute purchase of

    construction materials

    such as cement, steel, aggregates, sand, bitumen, chemicals, MEP items, and finishing materials.
  • Procure

    plant & machinery, tools, equipment, and spare parts

    as per project needs.
  • Prepare and issue

    Purchase Orders (POs), Work Orders (WOs), and Rate Contracts

    .
  • Obtain and evaluate

    quotations, comparative statements, and negotiations

    with suppliers.
  • Ensure

    cost-effective procurement

    without compromising quality.

Vendor Management

  • Identify, evaluate, and onboard

    approved vendors and suppliers

    .
  • Maintain

    vendor database

    , performance records, and rate history.
  • Coordinate with suppliers for

    timely delivery

    at project sites.
  • Resolve

    supply, quality, and delivery-related issues

    .
  • Develop long-term

    supplier relationships

    for strategic sourcing.

Coordination & Planning

  • Coordinate with

    site engineers, planning, stores, QA/QC, and finance teams

    .
  • Ensure procurement aligns with

    project schedules and material requirement plans (MRP)

    .
  • Track material status from

    indent to delivery

    .
  • Support

    mobilization of materials

    at project start.

Documentation & Compliance

  • Maintain complete

    purchase documentation

    including indents, POs, delivery challans, invoices, and GRNs.
  • Ensure compliance with

    company procurement policies, contract terms, and statutory requirements

    .
  • Assist in

    audit, billing, and inventory reconciliation

    .
  • Follow

    GST, tax, and statutory norms

    related to procurement.

Cost Control & Inventory

  • Monitor material consumption and assist in

    inventory control

    .
  • Avoid excess procurement, shortages, or material wastage.
  • Support

    budget control and cost-saving initiatives

    .

Key Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of

    construction materials and procurement processes

    .
  • Negotiation and vendor management skills.
  • Understanding of

    contracts, PO terms, and payment conditions

    .
  • Proficiency in

    MS Excel, (Tally / other ERP)

    .
  • Good communication and coordination skills.
  • Ability to work under tight timelines and multiple projects.

Educational Qualification

  • Bachelors Degree / Diploma

    in Civil Engineering / Mechanical Engineering / Supply Chain / Commerce
  • Additional certification in

    Procurement / SCM

    is an advantage

Experience Requirements

  • 46 years

    of experience in

    construction or infrastructure companies

  • Experience in

    site-level and HO procurement

    preferred
