At Macro Level:
• Develop and implement strategic sourcing plans and roadmaps for mechanical components and
products globally.
• Mitigate risks related to supply and cost.
2. Functions:
• Create strategic sourcing plans focusing on localization to enhance department efficiency.
• Explore and evaluate new suppliers, both domestic and global.
• Negotiate and finalize techno-commercial contracts with suppliers.
• Manage Engineering Change Notices (ECNs), including cost, inventory, lead time, tracking, and
implementation.
• Maintain and manage Bill of Materials (BOM) cost for all projects.
• Track capital investments in tools, fixtures, and gauges, adjusting based on ECN changes.
• Drive cost competitiveness across the procurement process.
3. Primary Responsibilities:
• Source and develop prototype samples for alpha builds, initial testing, and validation.
• Finalize vendors based on Quality, Cost, Delivery, and Development (QCDD) criteria.
• Settle prices with suppliers using Zero-Based Costing (ZBC) principles.
• Provide inputs to the design team for design-to-cost initiatives and estimate product BOM costs
through ZBC.
• Provide component-level Design for Manufacturing (DFM) feedback before design release.
• Analyze BOM costs to neutralize cost impacts and generate cost reduction plans.
• Manage risks for key and critical parts through identification, assessment, and mitigation
strategies.
• Ensure the availability of at least two alternative vendors for key and critical parts.
