Sports PR Manager

Key Result Areas (KRAs)

Media Relations & Reputation Management

• Build and maintain strong relationships with sports journalists, editors, broadcasters, and digital sports platforms.
• Secure consistent, high-impact media coverage across print, digital, television, and sports publications.
• Handle proactive and reactive media communications, including crisis management when required.
• Manage press conferences, media briefings, match-day media interactions, and interviews.

Strategic Communications & Campaign Planning

• Develop and execute integrated PR strategies for sports leagues, franchises, athletes, tournaments, and brand partnerships.
• Identify timely news hooks around matches, tournaments, transfers, endorsements, and milestones.
• Align PR strategies with marketing, sponsorship, and digital teams for cohesive storytelling.

Content Development

• Oversee creation of press releases, media pitches, match reports, athlete profiles, Q&As, and thought leadership content.
• Ensure accuracy, tone, and timeliness of all communications, especially during live events.
• Support spokesperson preparation with key messages, briefing notes, and FAQs.

Client & Account Management

• Act as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring high service standards and strategic counsel.
• Lead client meetings, presentations, and reporting.
• Manage multiple accounts simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines.

Team Leadership

• Mentor and manage junior team members, guiding execution and professional development.
• Delegate tasks efficiently and ensure quality control across deliverables.

Reporting & Measurement

• Track coverage, sentiment, share of voice, and campaign effectiveness.
• Prepare detailed reports and insights for clients and internal stakeholders.

Desired Skills & Qualifications

• 36 years of experience in

  Sports PR

  , communications (agency experience preferred).
• Strong network with sports media across sports sectors and emerging sports.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work in fast-paced vertical.
• Strategic thinker with strong execution capabilities.
• Proficiency in MS Office and media monitoring tools.
