Job Description

Job Summary:
We are looking for a passionate and dynamic Primary Resource Teacher (PRT) for Science to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of scientific concepts and the ability to engage young learners in hands-on, inquiry-based learning. The Science Teacher will be responsible for creating an interactive and stimulating environment to help students explore and understand the natural world and develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teaching & Instruction:
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging Science lessons to primary school students (Grades 1-5) based on the curriculum.
  • Focus on fostering curiosity about the natural world, introducing scientific concepts, and encouraging inquiry-based learning.
  • Develop and teach units that cover topics in life science, physical science, earth science, and environmental science.
  • Use a variety of instructional strategies, including experiments, demonstrations, and multimedia resources, to support learning.
  • Student Assessment & Progress Monitoring:
  • Regularly assess student understanding and progress through formative assessments, quizzes, projects, and class activities.
  • Provide timely feedback and develop individualized plans to support student learning where necessary.
  • Track and report on student progress in a clear and accurate manner, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Classroom Management:
  • Maintain a positive, safe, and interactive classroom environment conducive to learning.
  • Encourage student participation, curiosity, and collaboration in scientific exploration.
  • Ensure a safe and orderly environment during science experiments and practical activities.
  • Curriculum & Lesson Planning:
  • Develop and deliver Science lessons that align with the curriculum guidelines and learning outcomes.
  • Integrate cross-curricular approaches with other subjects, such as mathematics, literacy, and environmental studies, when appropriate.
  • Plan and implement hands-on experiments and field trips to enrich the learning experience.
  • Communication with Parents & Staff:
  • Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress, achievements, and any concerns.
  • Participate in parent-teacher meetings and school events to foster strong school-family partnerships.
  • Collaborate with other teachers to ensure an integrated and cohesive learning experience for students.
  • Professional Development:
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest educational trends, teaching strategies, and scientific advancements.
  • Attend professional development workshops, conferences, and seminars to continuously improve teaching skills and subject knowledge.
  • Additional Responsibilities:
  • Participate in school-wide activities, events, and committees as required.
  • Assist in organizing science fairs, exhibitions, or other extracurricular activities related to science education.
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, performance, and behavior.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Education, or a related field.
  • A Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) or equivalent teaching certification is preferred.
  • Experience:
  • Previous teaching experience, preferably in a primary school setting.
  • Familiarity with inquiry-based learning and hands-on science teaching methods.
  • Skills:
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to create engaging, interactive lessons that foster student curiosity and a love of science.
  • Good organizational and classroom management skills.
  • Comfort with using technology, digital tools, and resources to support science instruction.
  • Creativity in designing practical, real-world learning experiences for students.

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
