Position Overview

As Proposal Development Manager, you will be responsible for managing the central proposal team for the Competitive Strategy practice and play a hands-on role in crafting compelling pitches and proposals that drive business growth. You will lead and develop the team, ensuring high-quality outputs, efficient workflows and strategic alignment with business objectives. You will take ownership of the overall quality of proposal content, direct team workflows and priorities, and evolve proposal resources to meet business needs. A key focus will be on improving team efficiency, reducing the cost of work acquisition and increasing the overall win rate of proposals. Additionally, you will play a leadership role in analyzing feedback and proposal analytics to enhance future proposals. You will also take the lead on larger, more complex programs of proposals development, deepening your expertise in advanced methodologies.

  • Understanding client requirements and offering and/or developing customized solutions:

    Be able to comprehend the why’ behind the client need and propose effective and specific solutions; suggest Prescient’s core offerings where suitable or work in close collaboration with senior leaders in the practice to adjust/augment these solutions as needed
    • Preferred:

      Knowledge of the management consulting and/or life sciences industry
  • Proficiency in MS Office

    : Advanced skills in

    developing PowerPoint presentations, including strong knowledge of formatting and visual storytelling skills

  • Industry knowledge:

    Strong and current understanding of developments in own function and life sciences industry; ability to incorporate future-facing considerations into ideas and planning

  • Proposal development:

    Lead the creation of high-impact proposals, ensuring strategic structure and industry compliance 
  • Proposal delivery:

    Manage proposal timelines and quality through both independent and team-led contributions
  • Quality assurance and compliance

    : Uphold quality standards, ensuring Prescient’s standardized best practices for messaging, structure and formatting are followed on every proposal
  • Developing and maintaining central proposal repository:

    Ensure that Proposal Development Specialist(s) keep the central repository up to date with improved templates and tools 
  • Process and content improvement:

    Continually gather feedback to improve the proposal development process and quality of proposals
  • Communication:

    Communicate professionally, proactively and confidently with colleagues throughout the proposal development process; collaborate with internal stakeholders (project directors and subject matter experts) to align with client needs, business goals and project objectives
  • Teamwork:

    Collaborate effectively with all colleagues to foster energy and positivity, supporting the development of less experienced colleagues, living the Prescient values day-to-day and making a positive contribution to our company culture
  • Line management:

    Manage Proposal Development Specialist(s) by providing coaching, performance management and professional development. Oversee workload alignment with business priorities while fostering a collaborative, high-performing team culture

Education, Experience and Other Key Skills

  • Undergraduate or advanced degree

    in life sciences, data sciences, business or a related discipline with 5 or more years’ consulting or CI experience (preferably with various types of life sciences clients), including at least 2 years’

    experience of engaging in proposal development

  • Problem solving and intellectual agility:

    Strong analytical mindset with natural curiosity and the ability to translate client asks into innovative, actionable, and feasible solutions
  • Strong knowledge

    of consulting/project management principles, core practices, policies, procedures, methodologies and tools
