Property Tax Litigation

You will be responsible for handling all matters related to Property Tax, including Rateable Value Cases, Capital Value system, Post Judgment actions, and Execution of Decrees. This will involve drafting various legal documents such as Notices, Pleadings, Affidavit-in Replies, Appeals, and First Appeals. You will be required to brief and assist Advocates & Solicitors, attend hearings at quasi-Judicial Officers, Trial Court, and High Court, and independently appear and argue matters before them. Additionally, you will need to report to the Business Team post-hearing and prepare Dashboard summaries of Pending Litigations, Status updates, and the way forward. Furthermore, your responsibilities will include drafting letters/applications and replies to be submitted to authorities like MCGM, conducting legal workshops, making presentations to provide guidance and training on legal compliance to various business functions. You should have a strong understanding of Property laws, BMC Act, and Landmark judgments related to Property Tax (Rateable value and Capital Value). It is essential to have hands-on experience in litigation practice, especially concerning property tax matters, and good research abilities regarding legal issues. Moreover, being well-versed in reading Marathi documents will be an added advantage. To qualify for this role, you must be a Graduate in any discipline with an LLB degree and a practicing Advocate with at least 8 to 10 years of Litigation practice post-LLB. You should be a member of the Bar Council of Maharashtra & Goa and possess the necessary computer skills to perform the job effectively.,
