Job Title : Project Specific Research Engineer I (Air Quality-01)-(ARAI Contract)-ERL
Openings : 1

We are looking for the following position for our Environment Research Laboratory (ERL):

Designation: Project Specific Research Engineer I (Air Quality-01)-(ARAI Contract)-ERL

Location: Kothrud, Pune

The candidate should be M.E./M. Tech. in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science and Technology, Atmospheric Sciences or Equivalent from reputed University. A Ph. D. degree in above fields is desirable but not mandatory.

Work Experience:

A minimum of 3 years of experience (for M. Tech. candidates) and 1-2 years (for Ph.D. candidates) in the city-level/regional emission inventory development and air quality management field.

Liasoning with different government departments and external agencies for data collection on demography, industries, meteorology, and air pollution
Analyzing the data collected from field surveys using tools such as excel, python, R, QGIS, etc.
Develop emissions inventory estimates for point, area, line, natural sources and other applicable pollutant sources
Run dispersion models such as AERMOD/CALPUFF to ascertain the concentration of pollutants in a specific areas and locations
Run computer models (i.e. AERMOD) to ascertain the concentration of pollutants in a specific areas and locations
Develop research papers and scientific reports
Participate in meetings with stakeholders
Perform other related duties as required

Requirements

Knowledge of CPCB, ARAI, AP-42, CARB, and/or other emissions inventory factors.
Knowledge of air quality regulations
Knowledge of principles and practices of GIS, including data compilation and conversion, and database management systems
Knowledge of mathematical principles including algebra, geometry, and trigonometry
Skill in developing, manipulating, and analyzing GIS data in a variety of data formats and projections
Skill in interpreting and applying policies and procedures governing environmental control
Skill in analyzing and evaluating technical engineering data and complex computer data
Ability to maintain accurate and interrelated data records and identify and reconcile errors
Ability to follow and effectively communicate verbal and written instructions.
