Job Description

Role Overview: As a Design Authority for an engineering discipline with low to medium complexity at Hitachi Energy, your main responsibility is to complete assignments on small projects or portions of larger projects in accordance with contract specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements. You will be preparing Protection principle Single Line Diagrams (SLD), Schematics substation layouts, sections, Bill of materials, RFQs, vetting vendor offers, estimating engineering hours, visiting project sites, conducting technical risk assessment, and evaluating opportunities. Additionally, you will coordinate with various teams such as Engineering Leads, Tendering team, Project managers, SCM, Secondary and civil/steel design functions, consultants, and end customers to provide necessary support in each Project/Tender. Key Responsibilities: - Review Tender documents, technical specifications, and prepare design intent documents. - Prepare protection SLD showing principles, relays, and meters. - Prepare Functional Design Standards/Descriptions. - Prepare Signal list, trip matrix, Logics & Interlocks. - Review vendor drawings and documents for technical vetting. - Prepare schematic diagrams for Control & Relay Panel interfaces. - Prepare relay ordering information. - Prepare circuit diagrams for New & Existing Set-up. - Prepare Cable block diagram and Cable Schedule & Bill of Quantities estimation. - Prepare Wiring/Termination diagrams. - Prepare Core sheets and SCS IO Schedule. - Utilize Panel Engineering Expertise for layouts, circuit diagrams, wiring tables, terminal tables, etc. - Conduct Voltage drop calculation for Trip & Close coil, LVAC power cable. - Identify existing drawings and modify them using Red and Green markups. - Interface knowledge with Primary Equipment, Bay Controller Units, SCADA, RTU, Tele protection. - Design Auxiliary Power System including Low Voltage AC Panel & DC Panel requirements, Aux Tr and Battery & Charger Sizing, ACDC Cable sizing, and CB selectivity study. - Conduct CT/VT Sizing, relay configuration, and have excellent knowledge in AIS & GIS secondary designs. - Prepare As-Built documentation. - Coordinate with other departments for design progress & completion. - Evaluate Vendor Offers and conduct FAT/SAT of primary secondary equipment. - Ensure on-time delivery of design deliverables and monitor project schedule impacts. - Obtain customer approvals for designs and drawings. - Conduct technical risk and opportunity assessment and validation. - Participate in customer meetings/site visits for tender/project clarifications. - Ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines. Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering. - 5-8 years of relevant experience. - Proficiency in technical risk and opportunity assessment and validation. - Proficiency in both spoken and written English language.,
