Project Engineer

Role & responsibilities

The Project Engineer will be responsible for on-site execution, installation, testing, commissioning, and support of Holmiums IoT, RMS, SCADA, Zero Export, and automation solutions.

He will work closely with the Project Manager and Support Team to ensure smooth deployment of devices, field communication, and complete project delivery across solar and industrial sites.

A. Site Execution & Installation

Install and configure Holmium devices (dataloggers, controllers, SCADA systems, weather stations).

Perform wiring, RS485 communication setup, LAN configuration, and sensor connections.

Install and integrate:

Energy meters

Inverters

PLCs

Weather sensors

Zero Export controllers

PV-DG Sync hardware

Conduct site surveys and submit complete survey reports.

B. System Integration & Testing

Integrate devices using Modbus RTU/TCP, RS485 & Ethernet networks.

Test data communication between field devices, SCADA, cloud, and dashboards.

Validate inverter mapping, DG synchronization, power parameters, and meter readings.

Perform end-to-end testing before commissioning.

C. Commissioning & Handover

Commission RMS/SCADA systems at client sites.

Provide basic training to site technicians or client teams.

Prepare commissioning reports, connection diagrams, and documentation.

Assist Project Manager in completing punch points.

D. Troubleshooting & Support

Diagnose field issues related to wiring, RS485 communication, IP network, modbus communication, etc.

Coordinate with software and hardware teams to resolve on-field issues.

Support ongoing maintenance and AMC sites as required.

E. Material & Documentation Handling

Prepare BOQ/BOM for site installation.

Ensure material dispatch coordination with the production team.

Maintain installation photos, reports, and checklists.

Follow all SOPs for installation and testing.

3. Required Skills

Technical Skills

Strong understanding of Modbus (RTU/TCP) communication.

Knowledge of RS485, RS232, LAN, WiFi, GSM communication systems.

Familiarity with solar plant components:

Inverters

Energy meters

Weather stations

String combiner boxes (SCB)

DG & Grid interfacing

Ability to read electrical drawings, SLDs, and wiring diagrams.

Basic understanding of IoT devices and embedded hardware.

Hands-on experience with multimeters, network testers, and communication tools.

Preferred candidate profile

Diploma / B.Tech / B.E. in Electrical / Electronics / Instrumentation / similar.

14 years of experience in:

Solar RMS/SCADA projects

Industrial automation

IoT field installations

Communication/Networking systems

Freshers with strong fundamentals may also be considered.
